The blanquette de Limoux,
the origin of the bubbles

In 1938, the AOC for the Blanquette de Limoux and the Ancestral Method Blanquette is born.

As early as the 17th century, its reputation reached beyond local influence and the Blanquette de Limoux was used as a quality offering to Lords, major military leaders and Church dignitaries.

After five centuries of tradition, the Blanquette de Limoux owes its typicality to the Mauzac grape. Characteristic to our terroir, it reveals aromas of green apple, white fruit, with a superb alliance of freshness and fruitiness. The name “Blanquette de Limoux” originated from the light colour of the bottom surface of the Mauzac leaves, a variety of grape called Blanquette in the Limouxine language.

In 1938, the AOC for the Blanquette de Limoux and the Blanquette made by Ancestral Method is born.

Our Blanquettes reveal our relentless search for taste, balance and elegance. They are the pure expression of our terroir.
