We have drawn our strength from our passion to build a strong imprint, a unique style combining tradition and modernity, while always in the respect of the environment and the rules of organic production.

A family passion for the last 3 generations.

The Delmas story began 3 generations ago: Omer, my father, cultivated the 3 hectares of vines which he himself had inherited from his grandfather. In turn, since 1986, it is now myself, Bernard, cook for 10 years but now committed with Marlène my wife, to perpetuate and develop the family tradition.

In the Domain, working with the family is important. For us, this is a state of mind that has allowed us to evolve boldly and to meet the challenges of an independent winery production. As early as 1986, we decided to convert all of our vineyard into organic farming, a commitment that we maintain to this day.

From the terroir
to the grapevine

The Haute-Vallée, a terroir of exceptional wines

Located in the extreme southwest of the Languedoc vineyards, at the foot of the Pyrenees, the region combines Mediterranean and Atlantic climatic influences.

The domain takes root in Antugnac, at the heart of the Upper Valley, one of the 4 terroirs making up the Limoux AOC. The landscapes are beautiful and the vineyards are perched on the hillsides. Its plentiful sunshine and rainfall provide an ideal context for the production of our wines.

Cooler due to its altitude, the Upper Valley terroir is more suitable to white varieties and especially Mauzac. Perfectly oriented towards the East, the vineyard is sheltered from oceanic influences.

The grape varieties Chardonnay, Mauzac, Chenin and Pinot Noir are cultivated here according to the respect of the subtle balance that unites the vine and the earth.

Accompanied by an oenologist, Baptiste and myself, Bernard Delmas, follow the production of our wines from harvest to bottling.

Two methods are used to ensure the quality and authenticity of our wines: The traditional method and the ancestral method.

For a domain on a human scale, ethics are primordial since the values we put forward are those of ecology, soil maintenance, solidarity and equity. In order to offer our customers great tasting and quality born of the harmony of the soil and the vine, we are committed to not use pesticides, chemical fertilizers and GMOs.

The story of a commitment

The Delmas Domain is a pioneer in the world of organic wine and organic vine culture.. same time, in 1987, Bernard Delmas personally committed and joined as a Vice President then Treasurer, one of institutional groups aimed at regulating access to the organic market throughout the country: UNIA (National Interprofessional Union of organic farming).

Our
region

The Delmas Domain is located in Antugnac, a village near Limoux, chief town of the area, in the department of Aude or otherwise called the Pays Cathare (Cathare country).

The symbolic monuments of the region trace its medieval history: castles, abbeys and museums are the essence of the Aude with the iconic city of Carcassonne, famous for its fortified walls.

To access the Upper Valley area, follow “the belle Aude” as described by Joseph Delteil, native of the area, who never tired of singing about his native land.
